"One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation." In order for me to be prepared is practice. With practice and determination comes with pain. To get better I must embrace the pain. Sometimes getting better means taking sacrifices. My results come from the sacrifices that I make. When I get results, I’ll ask myself what improvements can be made. Real commitment means a willingness to improve. Commitment is by a course of action. There it will lead me to success.
Ever since I came into college my main goal was to be more confident and outspoken. For the past three years I’ve done things to get me out of my comfort zone. There are a lot of things that come up in my head that I thought I’d never do. Every summer so far, the past three years have been a build up for my confidence. This summer is a huge step for me. By the end of July I have present in front of hundreds of people. Hopefully I don’t set up of embarrassment this time around. But I know this is the only way I face my fear.
“I think we all forget how far our words go, mean things to say can make a nice day ice cold. We all know the small things in life: the smiles, the compliments, that help us get by. So please take this song as a gentle reminder that life is much brighter if you’re generally kinder. So once you’ve done said it, you can’t hit rewind, and just remember, words are the gates to the mind and the soul; love is what fills the holes.”—Sam Ock | Beautiful People (via bitchstolemycookies)
